HASBRO GHOSTBUSTERS PLASMA SERIES > TRADED-IN with COSMIC TOYS

Cosmic Toys this time has sent me a rather spooky trade-in. Hot on the heels of my look at New Age Octavian, I’m following that up with a set of 4 Ghostbusters Plasma Series figures. These come to me loose with some accessories, but the important thing is; it’s the original team from the first movie: Venkman, Stantz, Spengler and Zeddemore. I’ll get straight to the bustin’ because it makes me feel good!.

Sorry, a little carried away there…. So, to the main points and waste no time on exposition. A short read with some nice photo’s.

Packaging: No packaging, all these figures are loose.

Accessories: There are a selection of accessories here, but I could not tell you if they are complete. Give me a minute to go consult Google, be right back…… Okay, Venkman, Stantz and Spengler are complete but Zeddemore is not. He’s missing his Proton Pack ‘zap’ effect. Oh, an none of them come with the Build a Figure parts.

The Figures: None of them have their likeness nailed. The closest I would say is possibly Spengler. They aren't bad but just not what I’d expect with today's scanning, printing and molding technology. They all stand at 6 inch tall, making them a fit in with Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series. The sculpt of the bodies is good and so is the detailing. The paint application could be a little better but for the price point I suppose it will do. The face detailing is done well, but I personally feel the overalls are a shade or two too light, they need to be darker. There's also some good work on the proton packs & accessories.

These figures are well articulated for the scale, with plenty of joints, but they are quite tight so I‘d proceed with caution. This articulation is the same as the aforementioned Marvel Legend & Star Wars Black Series, so I won’t bother detailing it here. All the figures are clean and tidy with no marks or damage to them.

Closing Thoughts: It’s a really short one this time, I know. But honestly, there’s not really much to say about these figures that the photo’s cannot convey better. It would make a great set to have, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t tempted to keep them myself. But, I’m a stickler for having stuff boxed so it’s not often that loose items make it to my collection. There is a great fun factor to these figures, most likely tied up in nostalgia for the original movie. My only gripe with them would be with regards the hands and the way they hold the Proton Pack Wands. They don’t angle and articulate well enough to convey a good ‘shooting’ pose. But I get it, they're a £20 figure (when new) aimed at mass market and not specifically collectors when all’s said and done.

And that’s about it. The rest you can gather from the photo’s or by contacting Cosmic Toys and discussing it with them. The Ghostbusters will be available on the Cosmic Toys website for you to buy… once I’ve returned them!

Right, I’m out of here. I’ve been Edd, they've been the Ghostbusters and you’ve been awesome for spending a little time reading my ramblings.
